The role will be based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Weena office) Unilever

Business context:
The development of a new fully aligned global communications function to support Unilever’s Compass ambition of doubling the size of the company while reducing the environmental footprint and increasing positive social impact
Based on its success over the past three years, it is now time for the global communications function to embark on its next stage of evolution to support the ‘purpose’ of the new function: to create a movement for Sustainable Growth among employees and external stakeholders, and to ensure the purpose is embedded in the organization

To support UFS’s Exec team in the role as trusted advisor and business partner to the UFS leader To be the ‘storyteller’ for UFS both internally and externally
To be the ‘issues slayer’ for the UFS and to support where relevant on Cross business issues
To actively contribute to a dynamic communications environment of continuous improvement and effectiveness.

Planning & strategic thinking combined with flawless execution
Excellent in storytelling (written skills are outstanding) and in making complicated information simple and engaging for a wide variety of audiences
Effective influencing skills and as result is good in managing senior stakeholders
Good business acumen and understands the dynamics of building and managing reputation
Channel management: Knows how to build, maintain and evaluate internal and external channels including social media
Passion for the Food Service business and its brands
Communications generalist, with an all-round excellent working knowledge of the various disciplines of communications such as media relations, social media, issues management and employee engagement
Team player. Keeps a balance between personal accountability and delivery through team work
Excellent Bias for Action, shows accountability and responsibility and has a ‘can do’ attitude
Cultural sensitivity and resilience
Essential experience:
Between 5 and 10 years experience in internal and external communications, preferably in a Business-to-Business environment,
Has leaded an internal change program
Experienced in storytelling for (corporate) brands, both internal and external communications
Has managed websites and internal portals and has experience in developing them
Proven networking abilities
Has managed issues and worked in an environmental with multiple external stakeholders
